First Grade

Well that was the fastest summer in history!  Man, it seems like Kayla just got out of school and now first grade is here already.  We did have a fun summer and managed to pack in quite a bit.  Galveston, Kemah, Jellystone Park, birthdays, gymnastics, piano lessons, and plenty of Sponge Bob on TV.  We took some time yesterday to shoot a few photos. Kemah

Last weekend, we had a chance to go to Kemah with friends from church (Chris, Melissa and their kiddos).  We had planned it a couple of weeks in advance and worried it would be too hot.  Then, the day before we were supposed to go, we were worried we’d get rained out.  Instead, it wasn’t too hot AND we didn’t get rained out.  In fact, it worked out perfect.  When we arrived, it wasn’t raining.  As we headed to...

Jellystone Park

We went to Jellystone Park for a couple of days early last week for some family fun. We rented a little cabin that was really nice (that’s my idea of camping in Houston in July – AC baby!). We spent most of the time in the pool or on the water slides and everyone had a lot of fun. We tried to watch a couple of movies at their outdoor theater each might but we were all just too tired to...

Summer Days

I can’t believe summer is half way over already. Summers sure ain’t what they used to be. The kiddos have been having fun and getting along pretty well. They like to play outside in the sprinkler, ride bikes and scooters, watch movies (Shrek, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc. Kayla also like to watch old Shirley Temple movies), draw, etc. They will eat an entire watermelon if you let...

July 4th Fireworks

While segwaying with my dad a few months back, we came across a location he had watched fireworks from in the past. He mentioned it was a perfect place to watch from because it wasn’t crowded and the fireworks reflected off the lake making the show twice as nice. We decided to give it a shot this year and arrived about 30 minutes early. It was a ghost town and I thought we’d have the location almost all to ourselves. ...

Gymnastics

Both kiddos are signed up for gymnastics this summer and both of them are doing really well. If we had a dollar for every hand stand Kayla did around the house everyday, I could...
