Baseball Fanatic

So as I’ve mentioned in the past, Nathan is a baseball fanatic. He walks around almost all day every day in baseball pants tucked into his socks (like his favorite player Hunter Pence) and a jersey. Every morning he wants to know who won all of the previous days games so he likes me to pull up the scoreboard on espn.com and although he can’t read for squat, he can tell me who played in each game and who won just based on the tiny little logos they put next to the team names. It’s amazing how much he knows about the game. It’s pretty funny to have a half way intelligent conversation about baseball with a 5 year old. If I ask him what time the game is and who the Astros are playing, he can usually tell me because he’s already consulted his 2010 pocket schedule that I’m sure has seen more use than any other pocket schedule anywhere…….ever. I already had to tape it back together once. Recently, he’d been using some halloween makeup to put the dark black lines under his eyes (you know, because of the intense glare in the house) so I bought him the real stuff. Mistake. The kid wears it ALL THE TIME. He’d where it to church if we let him. He woke up this morning with a fever and feeling like dirt but as he sits and watches TV, guess what…… yep, eye black.
