We spent a couple of days down in Galveston last week before Kayla starts kindergarten. Here are a couple of photos from the trip.

Running from a WaveFlying…with a little helpAlmost all wet

When we arrived at our hotel, it was blazing hot outside (and we had just visited the train museum which was mostly outside) so we decided to go for a swim in the hotel pool and it was FREEZING. It was almost torture but Kayla and I were eventually able to get all the way in. We had fun as Kayla would run and jump to me in the pool (but only after I said “I promise I will not let you go under” before each jump) . Anyway, when we were back home we asked the kids what part of the trip was their favorite. The beach? The train museum? Moody Gardens Aquarium? Rainforest Cafe? To my surprise, Kayla said she had the most fun in the freezing pool which I actually thought was kind of neat. We went all the way to Galveston and did a bunch of different things and the thing she had the most fun doing was the one thing I hadn’t considered.  Sometimes it’s the simple things.

That pool was COLD!

The kids don’t sleep much in the truck, but they were beat after our two day excursion.
